What is Omnilux™?

Omnilux™ is pain-free, non-invasive and requires no downtime. It uses UV-free LED lights, of a number of different wavelengths or colours to produce different cell reactions. For example, infrared light encourages the production of new collagen, and over time as new collagen is produced and cell turnover is increased, skin becomes smoother and more even in tone and texture. Encouraging the body’s own cellular response means that the surrounding cells and tissue are unaffected.

We have 3 different lights available in the clinic:

Omnilux Blue™ - For acne and similar bacterial skin complaints.

How does it work? Acne produces a bacteria that is sensitive to light. Omnilux Blue™ works to stop the spread of these bacteria by delivering a constant blue light that penetrates deep into the layers of the skin, stimulating the body to produce chemicals that destroy the bacteria.

Combining Omnilux Blue™ with Omnilux Revive™ will enhance its effectiveness as together they kill the bacterium that causes acne, regulate the production of oil, soothes inflammation and kick-starts the skins own rejuvenation and renewal process.

Omnilux Revive™ - For reducing the signs of aging including fine lines and wrinkles, sagging skin, dull skin tone, sallow and sunken skin; and inflammation

How does it work? Omnilux Revive™ uses gentle, UV-free light to reduce inflammation, improve healing, repair collagen, strengthening the skin’s foundation. Hydration levels are boosted, which gives the skin a youthful glow.

After Omnilux Revive™ skin is refreshed and healthier due to moisture being drawn into the skin. Skin will feel hydrated, tightened and rejuvenated. In addition, pores will appear smaller and wrinkles and fine lines will be reduced.

Omnilux Plus™ - For skin rejuvenation, damaged or ageing skin

How does it work? Omnilux Plus™ (near infra-red light) is used for skin rejuvenation in combination with Omnilux Revive™. It is also used for healing the skin and wound healing - a single Omnilux™ treatment immediately after facial fillers helps improve recovery and maximises the results of your treatment.

Am I suitable?

Omnilux™ is suitable for most people. However, Dr. Safari will discuss your medical history and any medication with you at your consultation to ensure there are no contraindications.

What should I expect at my treatment appointment?

At your appointment, one of our talented team members will clean your skin, ensuring that all makeup is removed from the skin. The Omnilux™ will then be placed over the area that you are having treated while you lie back and relax for 20 minutes. The treatment is completely pain-free and incredibly relaxing – a lot of our clients will comfortably nap under the light!

After your treatment, you can reapply makeup if you wish and immediately go back to your day.

What happens after the treatment?

After treatment, spots on the affected area may become darker, itchy and flake off the skin.

During this period, stay out of direct sunlight. If you must go outside, apply a thick coating of sunscreen on the treated area. You should also wear protective clothing and wide brimmed hats to keep sunlight of the treated area.

Use gentle cleansers and keep the skin well moisturized.

How many treatments will I require?

Skin will appear brighter and smoother after only one treatment. However, for maximum benefits and long-lasting results, a course of treatments is required.

The length of the course will vary depending on what you are wanting to achieve. As an example, for rejuvenation a course of 10 treatments over 3 – 5 weeks is required. A single booster treatment every 4 – 6 weeks will help maintain results.
